At the second World Humanoid Robot Games, which commenced in Beijing, IT Home's robot "Shine" (Shǎnliàn) recorded a time of 9.32 seconds for the 100-meter dash. This new record is faster than the previous human world record of 9.58 seconds. The robot's peak speed reached 14.5 meters per second.

The games, co-hosted by the Beijing Municipal People's Government and China Media Group, feature 50 events. This year's competition requirements have been significantly tightened compared to the previous year. Most events, including the 100m and 400m obstacle races, now require fully autonomous execution, and time limits for the three speed events have been substantially reduced.

"Shine" is set to compete in three speed events: the 100-meter sprint, the 400-meter obstacle race, and the 1500-meter run. Preliminary heats are scheduled to begin on August 22nd, with finals concluding on August 26th.

In a prior event in April, IT Home's robot "Shine" won the half-marathon with a net time of 50 minutes and 26 seconds. Company representatives have detailed that the robot's upgrades focused on its leg structure. The leg length was extended by 10 centimeters to 1.05 meters, enabling longer strides and increased speed. Internal components and joint torque have also been enhanced to boost performance.
