IT Home: Rumors of AI Team Layoffs Dismissed as Organizational Adjustment

IT Home reports that the company's public relations representative, Liu Xing, has refuted media speculation regarding layoffs and a significant reduction in the AI dialogue team. These reports, which suggested the team had been cut in half, are inaccurate, according to Liu Xing.

Liu Xing explained that the situation involves an organizational adjustment where certain functions of the general AI team have been integrated into the company's transaction and work-tool teams. Personnel have been reassigned accordingly. The affected team comprised fewer than 50 individuals, and the adjustment involved 11 staff members, with three choosing to resign.

Previous reports from outlets like LatePost indicated that Zhao Qi, a company executive, spearheaded these personnel changes. Zhao Qi has a decade-long tenure at the company, having previously overseen growth platforms and advertising technology before moving to the HR department to build talent for the company's AI initiatives.

The company's AI application has gained significant traction, reportedly reaching over 200 million daily active users. However, the current organizational shifts may signal evolving strategies or challenges in commercializing conversational AI products.
