Chinese technology publication IT Home reported on August 17 that a summer over-the-air (OTA) update has been released for the Shangjie Z7 and Z7T vehicles. The update brings significant improvements to the vehicles' software, focusing on driver assistance systems, navigation, and cabin features.

Among the key additions is the "City Roaming Cruise" function, enabling autonomous driving and lane changes even without active navigation. The system now supports traffic light recognition and independent passage through intersections. The vehicle also gains an automatic anti-rear-end collision assist function, designed to proactively avoid rear-end accidents.

Parking capabilities have also been enhanced. New features include a "Guard Parking" function and the ability for automatic parking or convenient parking into a selected spot, accessible from a short distance or along the route. The vehicle can also navigate directly to a charging spot upon leaving or arriving at a parking space.

Other updates include an improved 3D rendered navigation interface, featuring a dedicated view for right turns, and an optimized navigation search history. Cabin comfort is enhanced with automatic adjustment of the dimmable panoramic roof and a new sound effect master function for a personalized immersive audio experience. New entertainment features, such as a music streaming service and external sound effects, have also been added.

The Shangjie Z7 and Z7T, originally launched in April, start at 219,800 yuan and come equipped with several Huawei technologies, including an advanced intelligent driving system and the Huawei HarmonyOS cockpit. In late July, it was announced that cumulative deliveries for the Shangjie Z7/Z7T had surpassed 20,000 units.
