IT Home: Ugreen NAS Client for HarmonyOS Enters Public Beta Recruitment

Ugreen NAS has initiated recruitment for a public beta test of its client application designed for HarmonyOS. This program is open to a limited number of users with HarmonyOS devices.

14 October 2026

IT Home reported on October 14 that Ugreen NAS has begun recruiting for a public beta test of its client application specifically developed for HarmonyOS. The program is available to Ugreen NAS users who own HarmonyOS-enabled phones or computers, with an initial offering of 500 test slots.

The beta test will cover both mobile and desktop applications, featuring functionalities such as file management, photo backup, media playback, and remote access. To be eligible, participants must possess a Ugreen NAS device running the UGOS Pro system and have a HarmonyOS device with a system version of 6.1.1 (24) or higher.

Previously, Ugreen faced challenges integrating with the HarmonyOS ecosystem. The absence of a native client led some users to utilize the Android version through alternative means, which resulted in a suboptimal experience for background-intensive NAS applications. The company had previously indicated that a dedicated HarmonyOS client was under development.

Participants in the beta program are required to maintain confidentiality regarding the software and refrain from public disclosures. They will also need to cooperate with troubleshooting efforts, including providing logs and screen recordings. The selection process and invitations to test groups are scheduled for October. This recruitment drive signals Ugreen's transition to the implementation phase for its native HarmonyOS client.
