Chinese technology news outlet IT Home reports that claims of a vehicle falling from a 60-meter high bridge in Chongqing have been verified as false.
Chinese technology news outlet IT Home has reported that claims circulating on social media regarding a vehicle falling from a 60-meter high bridge in Chongqing's Wulong District have been verified as false.
The original rumors, which spread online with accompanying video and text, alleged that on October 15, 2026, a vehicle plummeted from a high bridge and the driver miraculously survived with minor injuries.
According to checks conducted by Chongqing authorities, including the Wulong District Public Security Bureau, no such incident has occurred in the district. Officials have confirmed the information circulating is inaccurate.
IT Home also noted that the video footage used in the rumors is a compilation of several different traffic accident sites and events from previous years in other parts of China. The clips are not related to each other and have been pieced together to spread misleading information.
Police are currently investigating the individuals responsible for spreading these false claims.
