IT Home: Yunyao Aerospace Dispatches First Self-Developed Commercial Satellite
Yunyao Aerospace has dispatched the "Jinshan World" satellite (Yunyao-1 28) to the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center for a late October launch. This marks Tianjin's first independently developed commercial weather satellite.

Chinese technology firm Yunyao Aerospace has dispatched its first indigenously designed and developed commercial satellite, "Jinshan World" (Yunyao-1 28), on its journey to the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. The satellite is scheduled for launch by the end of October. This marks a historical breakthrough for Tianjin, representing the city's first entirely self-developed commercial weather satellite.
The satellite completed all ground development work, including integration and environmental testing, in August and is now ready for deployment. Its primary payload is a self-developed GNSS occultation and sea surface integration instrument. This payload is designed to collect multi-layer environmental observation data from the atmosphere, ionosphere, oceans, and land, enabling high-precision detection of meteorological and environmental elements.
Additionally, the satellite carries experimental verification equipment, including an Atombot space robotic arm and selfie cameras. These components will be used to test intelligent operations for commercial satellites in orbit and to accumulate real-world data on space-based intelligent operations. The company aims to explore new pathways for satellite maintenance and operation technologies in orbit.
Data from the "Yunyao-1" series of occultation satellites has already been integrated into the China Meteorological Administration's comprehensive observation system for operational use. It provides tens of thousands of occultation profiles daily, supporting the nation's meteorological development. Upon arrival at Jiuquan, the satellite will undergo final checks and preparations before integration with the launch vehicle.
