ITA Airways finalizes first aircraft finance lease for two Airbus A330-900s
ITA Airways has completed its inaugural aircraft finance lease transaction for two Airbus A330-900neo aircraft. Crédit Agricole CIB and CIC acted as debt arrangers.

ITA Airways has closed its first aircraft finance lease deal, securing two Airbus A330-900neo aircraft. Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank (Crédit Agricole CIB) served as the global arranger, with Crédit Industriel et Commercial (CIC) acting as a debt arranger and lender.
The two A330-900neo aircraft, equipped with Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, have joined ITA Airways' operational fleet. This transaction supports the airline's strategy to modernize its fleet and enhance environmental efficiency. The A330neo is designed for up to 25% reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions compared to previous generation aircraft.
Under its 2025-2030 Strategic Plan, ITA Airways aims to transition to an almost entirely new-generation and eco-friendly fleet. As of late March 2026, the airline operated 106 aircraft with an average age of 6.2 years, and 74% of its fleet comprised new-generation aircraft.
The financial markets are showing continued interest in such transactions, driven by the demand for next-generation aircraft due to their fuel efficiency, lower operating costs, and reduced environmental footprint.
