iX-Workshop: Industrial Security according to IEC 62443 - A Practical Guide
Heise Gruppe is organizing a two-day workshop focusing on the international IEC 62443 standard for industrial IT and OT security.

Heise Gruppe is hosting a two-day workshop dedicated to the international IEC 62443 standard for industrial IT and OT security. The workshop, titled "IEC 62443: Industrial Security for Product Manufacturers," aims to help manufacturers reduce risks in industrial networks and prepare for upcoming regulations like the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
The workshop will cover key parts of the standard, specifically 4-1 and 4-2, which address the Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) and technical security requirements. Participants will gain an overview of the standard's core concepts, including the eight practices for secure product development and maintenance. It will also explain how to define security levels, component requirements, and practically implement threat modeling.
Through practical examples, attendees will learn how to integrate IEC 62443 requirements into their development and maintenance processes. The session will provide insights into common challenges faced when implementing secure OT and ICS products.
The workshop will be led by Luise Werner, an SDL and OT security consultant at secuvera GmbH, who assists manufacturers with IEC-62443-4-1 certification. The training is designed for automation technology developers, industrial security officers, and others aiming to establish secure development processes for industrial systems.
The next online session is scheduled for October 20–21, 2026.
