Jacksonian Epilepsy Summit Gathers New Jersey Clinicians

Epilepsy Services of New Jersey (ESNJ) held its inaugural Jacksonian Epilepsy Summit on September 10, 2026, at the Molly Pitcher Inn in Red Bank, New Jersey. The event convened epilepsy specialists and healthcare professionals from across the state for an evening focused on education, collaboration, and advancing epilepsy care standards.

The summit featured presentations from two nationally recognized experts. Dr. Lorna Myers, Director of the Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures Program at Northeast Regional Epilepsy Group, discussed the diagnosis and treatment of PNES. Dr. Rahul Guha, an epileptologist with Hackensack Meridian Health, led an interactive case study on focal epilepsy, emphasizing evidence-based practice and professional dialogue.

Healthcare professionals from leading New Jersey institutions, including Hackensack Meridian Health and Rutgers Health, participated. ESNJ stated the event aimed to strengthen connections among professionals treating epilepsy patients and the organizations supporting them. The summit is named after neurologist John Hughlings Jackson.

ESNJ plans to continue the Jacksonian Epilepsy Summit series in 2027. The inaugural event was supported by sponsors including SK Life Science, UCB Pharmaceuticals, Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Neurelis, and Medtronic.
