Jaguar Land Rover has officially debuted the 2027 Range Rover Electric, a battery-electric version of its flagship luxury SUV. The new model joins the existing internal combustion and plug-in hybrid variants in the Range Rover lineup.

The electric Range Rover aims to maintain the brand's established identity, presenting a near-identical appearance to its gasoline-powered counterparts. Key visual distinctions include a more aerodynamic front grille and specially designed wheels, contributing to reduced drag. The absence of tailpipes is the most apparent indicator of its electric powertrain.

With a starting price of $138,000, the Range Rover Electric is positioned as a more accessible alternative to custom-built electric Range Rover restomods. It incorporates modern safety features, including airbags and advanced driver-assistance systems, along with the support and warranty of a major automotive manufacturer.

Jaguar Land Rover reported significant initial interest, with 80,000 "hand-raisers" indicating potential demand, half of whom are from North America. The company noted that 70 percent of these expressions of interest are from individuals new to the brand, and 20 percent already own an electric vehicle.
