James Armstrong has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Scania (Great Britain) Ltd. He will officially take up the post on July 1, 2021, succeeding Martin Hay, who is leaving the company at the end of June.

Armstrong brings extensive experience from various roles within Scania. Most recently, he served as the Managing Director for Scania CER (Central Europe Region) in Prague, overseeing operations in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary. Prior to that, he was the Managing Director for Scania in Southeast Asia, based in Kuala Lumpur. He also previously held the position of Services Director for Scania GB.

Armstrong expressed his enthusiasm for returning to the UK. He highlighted that Scania UK is one of the company's largest and most successful operations and stated his intention to continue leading it to further success by supporting customers, colleagues, and the independent network. Armstrong also noted Scania GB's agenda focused on sustainability, including investments in electrification and driving the shift towards more sustainable transport solutions.
