Jamison Door and BMP Group Break Ground on New Manufacturing Facility in Maryland

HAGERSTOWN, Md. and VILLANOVA D'ASTI, Italy – Jamison Door Company and its parent company, BMP Group, officially broke ground on a new 355,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing facility in Hagerstown, Maryland, on September 25, 2026. The project represents an investment of $35 million to $50 million and marks the first phase of a planned 58-acre manufacturing campus for BMP Group in North America.

The new production center is designed to expand Jamison and BMP's U.S. manufacturing capabilities and increase capacity to serve customers across the continent. The facility will integrate advanced manufacturing technologies, automation, and research and development functions. BMP Group, headquartered in Italy, selected Washington County for the site due to the region's established industrial infrastructure and Jamison Door Company's long-standing presence in Hagerstown since 1906.

The construction project has received significant support from state and local government entities. This includes a $2 million grant through the Senator George C. Edwards Fund and an additional $2 million grant from Washington County. The Maryland Department of Commerce and local development organizations have also provided support.

The first phase of the facility is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2028, with manufacturing operations commencing shortly thereafter. The new plant will consolidate several North American brands and introduce new production lines from Europe, including Salco Industrial Doors, Champion Door, and Campisa dock levelers. BMP Group is already planning a second phase for the campus to support continued manufacturing growth in North America.
