Jan Oetjen Appointed New CEO of FRITZ!Box Manufacturer AVM
Technology company AVM has appointed Jan Oetjen as its new Chief Executive Officer. Oetjen officially takes over on September 30 and will focus on continuing the company's growth and innovation.
Berlin – AVM, the manufacturer behind the FRITZ!Box range of home networking devices, has announced the appointment of Jan Oetjen as its new Chief Executive Officer. Oetjen will assume his responsibilities on Monday, September 30, succeeding former CEO Johannes Nill. The company's new management team will consist of CEO Jan Oetjen, Chief Technology Officer and co-founder Peter Faxel, and Chief Financial Officer Jan-Christian Werner.
With over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, Oetjen, 51, most recently served as CEO of 1&1 Mail & Media Applications SE. In his previous roles, he managed email providers Web.de and GMX, as well as advertising marketer United Internet Media, expanding their market positions and driving innovation.
"I am very much looking forward to taking over the management of AVM and continuing the company’s success story together with the proven team," Oetjen stated. "Our key goals will be innovation, leveraging our market leadership in Germany, and further strengthening our international potential. As a European company, AVM stands for secure and reliable products for the interconnected world, and we will continue to expand this position."
Former CEO Johannes Nill expressed his confidence in the transition: "It is a great pleasure for me to hand over the management of the company to Jan Oetjen. With his vision and experience, he will lead AVM to new heights as an innovative and technology-oriented company." CFO Jan-Christian Werner, 49, previously held the CFO position at the HRS Group.
Founded in Berlin in 1986, AVM has established itself as a leading European provider of broadband connection and digital home products. Under the FRITZ! brand, the company offers routers, Wi-Fi repeaters, and smart home solutions. AVM reported revenues of EUR 580 million in 2023 and employs 890 staff.
