Japanese analysis: Chinese robots are ahead

Japanese media outlet Nikkei xTECH released a video analyzing the disassembly of China's Unitree Robotics G1 humanoid robot. Technical staff involved in the analysis expressed that Japan faces a considerable challenge in narrowing the gap with China in humanoid robot development in the short term.

During the teardown, Japanese technical personnel and reporters remarked on the high level of technological advancement in the Chinese robot. They concluded that China's progress in robotics has moved beyond mere demonstrations, presenting a significant hurdle for Japanese competitors seeking to quickly close the development gap.

The Unitree G1 is part of the company's expansion into the humanoid robotics sector. Earlier this year, Unitree Robotics partnered with GMO AIR, a subsidiary of GMO Internet Group, to become its official distributor in Japan. This collaboration facilitates the sale of Unitree's robots, including the G1 and H1 humanoid models, as well as the Go 2 and B2 quadruped robots, in the Japanese market.

GMO AIR will also provide comprehensive solutions for Unitree robots in Japan, encompassing communication services, cloud computing resources, cybersecurity capabilities, and financial services. This move underscores Unitree's strategy to offer complete robotic solutions and highlights the rapid advancements noted in the Japanese analysis.
