JCB and GB Prime Pay Partner to Expand Online Merchant Network in Thailand

GB Prime Pay (GBP), a Thai online payment platform provider, has partnered with Japan's JCB card network to expand JCB card acceptance among GBP's online merchants. The collaboration was announced on April 27, 2021.

The partnership aims to address the growing demand for online transactions in Thailand, which has seen increased activity amid the COVID-19 pandemic. JCB International, the international operations arm of JCB Co., Ltd., stated that this move aligns with its strategy to further expand its merchant network.

GB Prime Pay, regulated by the Bank of Thailand, offers online payment services across sectors including travel agencies, hotels, and e-commerce. The company focuses on providing fast, convenient, and secure payment solutions for fintech companies and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

JCB, a major global payment brand, has been expanding its international presence by forming alliances with financial institutions worldwide. Its network includes approximately 35 million merchants globally. This agreement is set to enhance JCB's reach within the Thai market.
