JCDecaux acquires majority stake in programmatic advertising firm Displayce
Outdoor advertising giant JCDecaux has acquired a majority stake in Displayce, a demand-side platform specialized in programmatic digital out-of-home advertising.
JCDecaux has secured a majority stake in the French technology startup Displayce to accelerate its digital transformation in the out-of-home (OOH) advertising sector. Displayce will maintain operational autonomy with its founders retaining their equity stakes, following the deal signed in July 2022.
Founded in 2014, Displayce provides a demand-side platform (DSP) that connects advertisers with digital out-of-home media owners through supply-side platforms such as VIOOH and Broadsign. The platform currently supports campaign optimization across more than 600,000 screens in over 50 countries.
This partnership aims to integrate Displayce’s automated buying tools into JCDecaux's existing infrastructure, providing advertisers with a full-stack solution for targeting and planning campaigns. JCDecaux plans to support Displayce’s international expansion, beginning with key European markets throughout 2022.
Jean-Charles Decaux, Chairman of the Executive Board and Co-CEO, stated that the move is designed to simplify media buying processes. By deepening its programmatic capabilities, the company seeks to capture further growth in the digital outdoor sector, which remains a high-priority area for the group's global strategy.
