JCDecaux, the global leader in outdoor advertising, has partnered with Carrefour, its real estate subsidiary Carmila, and retail media company Unlimitail to launch a significant retail media network. This collaboration will focus on deploying and commercializing digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising screens within shopping centers and outdoor advertising in their access areas in France and Spain.

The agreement aims to enhance the retail media offering for brands and drive growth for the retail partners. In France, the project involves the rollout of new 75-inch digital screens inside malls and iconic large screens at major sites, alongside 81-inch LED screens at access points. This initiative represents JCDecaux's largest multi-site deployment in France, covering 161 malls and 297 access areas.

In Spain, JCDecaux will strengthen its presence by developing an indoor DOOH offering across 91 shopping centers and an outdoor OOH and DOOH offering across 88 access areas to Carrefour hypermarkets, starting in 2027. Both countries will see the implementation of energy-efficient digital technologies and LED lighting solutions for analogue street furniture.

The new network will be integrated into Unlimitail's retail media ecosystem, enabling advertisers to execute omnichannel campaigns and leverage Carrefour's anonymized data for campaign measurement and sales impact analysis. JCDecaux will commence OOH/DOOH bookings in early 2026, with full deployment ready for the 2026 back-to-school season. This partnership is expected to modernize retail locations and create new revenue streams.
