These low-power relay transmitters, with a coverage range of several hundred meters, are intended to improve network coverage and capacity for Vodafone Netherlands' customers. This marks JCDecaux's first deployment of 4G small cells within its street furniture.
The company has been developing mobile-connected urban services and views its street furniture as offering a dense network of sites suitable for mobile carriers. JCDecaux stated that high-quality network deployment is essential for cities to remain competitive and attractive in the digital age.
