JCDecaux Provides Free Wi-Fi at Paris Airports

Paris Aéroport has provided free, unlimited Wi-Fi service to passengers at its airports since 2014, a service originally developed by JCDecaux Airport Paris. Since October 2015, the service has been sponsored by AXA, with connections offered through a branded portal.

The Wi-Fi service caters to highly connected and mobile passengers, providing information and content throughout the airport facilities. This initiative addresses the significant demand for connectivity and creates opportunities for airport innovation.

Passenger surveys indicate strong reliance on such services. The average wait time at terminals is three hours, with 96% of passengers believing airports should offer free Wi-Fi. A vast majority, 87%, carry smartphones, and 77% cite free Wi-Fi as their favorite airport service.

Beyond passenger convenience, the free Wi-Fi offers practical benefits and integrates into the airport's digital ecosystem, enhancing service quality and passenger satisfaction. It also serves as a platform for brands to engage with a connected audience through personalized and interactive media solutions.

The service comprises a streamlined, multilingual connection portal and offers cross-channel brand visibility. This synergy is amplified across 250 digital screens in retail and boarding areas, frequently utilized by passengers connecting to the network.
