JCDecaux Renews Helsinki Metro Station Advertising Contract

Advertising company JCDecaux has been awarded an extended 8+2 year contract by Helsinki City Transport Authority (HKL) and Länsimetro Oy to manage all advertising spaces within Helsinki and Espoo's metro stations. This new contract, commencing July 1, 2026, builds upon the existing partnership that has been in place since 2009.

The metro line serves as a critical public transportation backbone for Finland's capital and the second-largest city, Espoo, attracting over one million commuters weekly. This extension positions JCDecaux to continue its operations within this high-traffic environment.

Under the agreement, JCDecaux will install modern advertising technology across 30 metro stations. The company plans to integrate new LED screens designed to enhance the advertising experience within the subway environment.

JCDecaux stated that the renewed contract reinforces its position in Finland's digital out-of-home (DOOH) media landscape. The company plans to leverage this network, combined with its nationwide street furniture advertising, to offer significant audience reach to advertisers.
