JCDecaux has secured an exclusive 21-year contract for advertising on street furniture in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. The agreement, effective from February 2023, was awarded to JCDecaux Eesti OÜ, the company's local subsidiary.
The contract encompasses the installation and maintenance of 1,200 bus shelters, 34 self-cleaning public toilets, and 141 free-standing City-Light-Poster displays. A portion of the advertising portfolio within Tallinn's city center will be digitized as part of the agreement.
Tallinn's Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart emphasized that this procurement prioritized the design and quality of the street furniture over rental income, a first for such contracts in Estonia. The city aims to deploy high-quality, passenger-friendly installations, including the addition of accessible public toilets.
Jean-Francois Decaux, Co-CEO of JCDecaux, highlighted Tallinn's status as a modern technology hub and its designation as European Green Capital in 2023. He noted the contract extends JCDecaux's partnership with the city, which began in 2007, and expressed the company's intent to grow its market share in Estonia through this premium advertising network.
