JCDecaux to acquire VISTA COMMUNICATIONS Inc., expanding Tokyo street furniture offering

JCDecaux SE, a global leader in outdoor advertising, announced it has signed an agreement to acquire VISTA COMMUNICATIONS Inc., a Japanese firm operating advertising on taxi shelters in Tokyo. The deal, signed on March 30, 2026, is expected to enhance JCDecaux's presence in the Japanese market through its joint-venture, MCDecaux.

Since 2012, VISTA COMMUNICATIONS has managed 29 taxi shelters in Tokyo, offering 58 advertising faces, including seven digital screens. These locations are situated in high-traffic areas such as Shibuya, Roppongi, and Shinjuku. This acquisition marks MCDecaux's entry into the taxi shelter segment in Japan, complementing its existing network of over 850 B-Stop® advertising bus shelters in Tokyo.

MCDecaux aims to improve its service to Tokyo residents and visitors by providing a more comprehensive and consistent offering in terms of design, maintenance, and cleaning of these street furniture assets. The company currently operates advertising shelters in 43 cities across Japan, including the country's ten most populous cities.

Jean-Charles Decaux, Co-CEO of JCDecaux, stated that the acquisition aligns with the company's strategy for selective external growth, focusing on premium assets in high-traffic urban environments. The move positions MCDecaux as a leading operator of taxi shelters in Tokyo, reinforcing its footprint in a key market.
