JD, the Chinese e-commerce company, has set the launch price for its new "Seven Fresh Chef Pro" home service at 19,888 yuan (approximately $2,750 USD). The offering combines a smart cooking robot, a health meal management system, and associated meal benefits.
The service, officially unveiled on September 16, is positioned as an "executive for household healthy diets." It integrates an AI-driven dietary planning model, a supply chain for pre-portioned and cleaned ingredients, and an automated cooking robot. Users input their health reports and dietary preferences into a mini-program, which generates phased diet plans and daily menus. Ingredients are delivered chilled, and the robot handles the cooking.
The 19,888 yuan price point includes a smart cooking robot valued at 16,000 yuan, the "Health Brain" family health diet management system worth 10,800 yuan, and meal benefits totaling 15,000 yuan. JD states the combined reference value exceeds 40,000 yuan. The 15,000 yuan in "chef coins" can be exchanged for approximately 74 days of fresh vegetable and ingredient delivery.
Initial pre-sales cover cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. JD reported that thousands of users purchased the service on its first day. The company also offers a "Heirloom Edition" for high-end service channels, priced at 29,888 yuan, which includes additional features like national banquet master recipes and personalized chef services.
