E-commerce giant JD.com has announced a strategic partnership with motorcycle manufacturer Zhangxue Motorcycles. This collaboration introduces a new service where customers can order Zhangxue motorcycles directly from JD.com and receive them at home, fully assembled and with initial fuel.

The core of the partnership is an integrated delivery and assembly service. Xing Hongmei, head of JD.com's motorcycle division, explained that the process involves a delivery driver and a technician visiting the customer together. They will unpack, assemble, and set up the motorcycle on-site. A key feature is the inclusion of a liter of fuel, transported in a specialized, explosion-proof container, addressing the common issue of new motorcycles arriving without fuel.

JD.com is currently absorbing the costs associated with this comprehensive service, including delivery, assembly, and the initial fuel provision. The logistics network aims to cover urban, suburban, and rural areas, with assembly handled by technicians from JD.com's service network.

Zhangxue Motorcycles has reported a significant surge in demand. The company achieved its original annual production target of 50,000-60,000 units by August and anticipates reaching 100,000 units by year-end. The company also launched five new motorcycle models at the Chongqing International Motorcycle Expo.
