Jeff Bezos Directs Prime Video AI Overhaul
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has reportedly asked Prime Video's head to redesign the streaming service using artificial intelligence. The project aims to shift from a tile-based interface to a dynamic, AI-curated feed.

Amazon founder and executive chairman Jeff Bezos has instructed Prime Video to undergo a significant redesign focused on artificial intelligence (AI). According to a Reuters report, Bezos directed Prime Video head Mike Hopkins to reimagine the service to showcase Amazon's extensive AI investments.
The initiative, internally codenamed 'Lighthouse,' seeks to highlight Amazon's AI capabilities and serve as a prominent example of its broader AI ambitions. The proposed overhaul would move Prime Video away from its current grid interface, which relies on promotional slots and content tiles, towards a dynamic feed personalized by Amazon's AI algorithms in real-time.
Amazon is currently testing the new design with a select group of users. The company's commitment to AI is substantial, with projected capital expenditures of up to $200 billion this year largely dedicated to AI infrastructure. Amazon has also invested heavily in AI companies, including a significant stake in Anthropic.
This strategic shift is expected to demonstrate Amazon's AI prowess and provide a competitive edge in the streaming market, where personalized experiences and effective content discovery are increasingly important for subscriber retention and engagement.
