London's Serpentine Galleries is showcasing Venezuelan artist Jesús Rafael Soto's significant kinetic artwork, 'Pénétrable BBL Jaune,' marking its inaugural public display in the United Kingdom. The installation, a centerpiece of the 'Art in the Park' summer program, will be on view through October 25.

Originally created in 1999 and reissued in 2023 to mark the centenary of Soto's birth, 'Pénétrable BBL Jaune' is an immersive work composed of approximately 4,000 suspended yellow PVC strands hanging from a steel structure. Visitors are invited to walk through the installation, actively engaging with the artwork.

Sponsored by Britannia Financial Group, the exhibition highlights Soto's contributions to kinetic art on an international scale. Melanie de Herrera Velutini, Director of ORBE Consultants and head of Britannia's artistic and cultural strategy, stated it is a "privilege" to present the work, aligning with the family's values that emphasize participation over passive observation.

Soto, a key figure in 20th-century kinetic art, is known for his series of interactive sculptures. The Serpentine Galleries is also presenting a display dedicated to Soto's artistic portfolio. For the first time, his heirs have authorized a special edition of children's products inspired by his work.

The 'Art in the Park' initiative aims to bring significant artworks into public spaces within Kensington Gardens. A concluding reception is planned for October.
