JFK Terminal 5 Adds Iconic New York Culinary Brands

John F. Kennedy International Airport's Terminal 5 has introduced a variety of new culinary and retail offerings for travelers. These additions are part of a multimillion-dollar refresh project led by JetBlue, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and Fraport USA.

Upon completion, the terminal is set to feature over 40 new establishments, including shops, restaurants, communal spaces, and art installations inspired by New York City. Among the recently opened venues are the Italian food destination Eataly, and New York staples The Halal Guys and Nom Wah.

Fraport New York reports that nearly a dozen new establishments have opened to date. "We are creating more than an airport experience at Terminal 5. We are creating a place that reflects the spirit of New York," said Jose Cuevas, vice president at Fraport New York, overseeing concessions development.

Teresa Rizzuto, General Manager of JFK International Airport, commended JetBlue and Fraport USA for providing travelers with an authentic taste of New York as part of the terminal's $100 million refresh. She noted that the addition of Eataly, Nom Wah Tea Parlor, and The Halal Guys aligns with the Port Authority's vision for a New York-centric airport experience.

Further unique offerings from local New York brands are expected in the coming months. Travelers can also currently find other food and retail concepts such as Leon's Bagels, Jacob's Pickles, Melt Shop, Dunkin', and Shake Shack. New retail outlets and a gaming and relaxation lounge have also been introduced.
