Jio Platforms IPO Sees Strong Institutional Demand in Early Bidding
Jio Platforms' IPO attracted significant interest from qualified institutional buyers shortly after opening, with the offering currently 58% subscribed.

Jio Platforms, the digital services subsidiary of Reliance Industries, saw its qualified institutional buyers' (QIB) quota fully subscribed within minutes of its initial public offering opening today. According to Bombay Stock Exchange data, the overall issue reached a 58% subscription rate by 09:45 IST, with 11.48 crore shares bid against an offer of 19.75 crore.
The institutional appetite, which reached 1.95 times the allocated quota, follows a successful anchor round that raised ₹8,109.8 crore. Major global investors, including BlackRock and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, participated in the lead-up to the public offering.
The IPO, priced between ₹1,065 and ₹1,119 per share, aims to raise approximately ₹30,213 crore ($3.2 billion). If successful at the upper end of the price band, the transaction will surpass Hyundai Motor India to become the largest IPO in the country’s history.
Reliance intends to utilize the proceeds primarily to reduce debt at its telecom subsidiary, Reliance Jio Infocomm, which maintains a subscriber base exceeding 533 million as of mid-2026. The company is currently transitioning from a pure-play telecom provider toward enterprise cloud, AI, and fixed broadband services.
