Jio Platforms lists with IPO aiming to raise over $30 billion
Indian telecom operator Jio Platforms is launching an IPO to raise up to $30 billion. Most of the funds are earmarked for debt repayment, prompting questions about the company's future growth drivers.

Jio Platforms, the digital services arm of Reliance Industries, is set to launch its Initial Public Offering (IPO) aiming to raise up to ₹30,213 crore (approximately $3.6 billion USD). The offering values the company at an estimated ₹10.3 lakh crore ($12.4 billion USD) at the upper price band. A significant portion of the proceeds, primarily for repaying existing borrowings of its subsidiary Reliance Jio Infocomm, is a key focus for investors.
The IPO, which opens for subscription on October 21 and closes on October 23, offers shares in a price band of ₹1,065–₹1,119. Jio Platforms has built an extensive digital infrastructure and a large customer base across India, offering mobile connectivity, fixed broadband, digital entertainment, cloud services, and AI solutions.
For the fiscal year ending March 2026, Jio Platforms reported revenue from operations of nearly ₹1.47 lakh crore and a net profit of ₹30,049 crore. As of June 30, 2026, its telecom subsidiary, RJIL, had 533.3 million subscribers. The company's strategy hinges on leveraging its vast network and customer base to drive uptake of its diverse digital services.
With a substantial portion of the IPO funds directed towards debt reduction, investors are scrutinizing Jio Platforms' strategy for future growth. While the average revenue per user (ARPU) has seen a modest increase, the company faces the challenge of converting its extensive user base into higher-value subscriptions and driving adoption of its non-telecom services. The success of its digital and AI ventures as significant revenue engines remains a key question.
