Jio Platforms Reports 14% Profit Growth in Second Quarter

Jio Platforms, which recently completed its initial public offering, reported a net profit of ₹8,387 crore for the second quarter of the fiscal year, representing a 13.7% increase from the same period last year. Total operating revenue climbed 11.4% to ₹40,475 crore, supported by a growing user base and increased digital service adoption.

The company’s EBITDA grew by 16.6% to reach ₹21,879 crore. While management noted that higher finance costs associated with 5G asset capitalization impacted the final figures, strong subscriber momentum provided an offset. Managing Director Akash Ambani stated that the results reflect the sustained demand for the company’s broadband and 5G network infrastructure.

Jio ended the quarter with 542.4 million total subscribers, adding 9.1 million net new customers. With 300 million 5G users, the company maintains its position as a major regional telecommunications player. Average revenue per user (ARPU) rose by 3.5% to ₹218.8, and company shares closed 0.57% higher following the announcement.
