JMEV YiChi 05 Chocolate Edition Begins Batch Deliveries, Features CATL Battery Pack
JMEV, a Chinese vehicle manufacturer, has commenced batch deliveries for its YiChi 05 Chocolate Edition. The model utilizes CATL's battery system and swap technology.
Chinese vehicle manufacturer JMEV began batch deliveries of its YiChi 05 Chocolate Edition on September 10. The event saw 10 partner agreements signed, securing orders for 1,100 units.
The YiChi 05 Chocolate Edition incorporates CATL's (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited) "chocolate" battery swap system, utilizing CATL's 25th generation battery pack. The vehicle is reported to achieve a range of 530 kilometers on a single charge, stated as the longest range for its battery specification. This is supported by the vehicle's lightweight design and active grille shutters (AGS).
In terms of safety, the YiChi 05 Chocolate Edition features a steel-aluminum hybrid cage body structure with 71% high-strength steel. The battery system is protected with an IP68 rating, providing dual safeguards for battery integrity and the passenger cabin.
CATL has established 36 "chocolate" swap stations in Nanchang, creating an infrastructure base for the YiChi 05 Chocolate Edition's operation. The companies aim to collaboratively develop replicable urban battery-swapping solutions. CATL plans to construct over 3,000 swap stations across 216 cities by the end of 2026.
