Job Seekers Frustrated by "Ghosting" – Experts Offer Advice
Many job applicants face frustration as employers ignore them without response. Experts provide insights into the causes and solutions for this common issue.

A growing number of job seekers are experiencing "ghosting," a phenomenon where potential employers fail to respond to applications or inquiries.
According to a ResumeBuilder.com survey, 39% of respondents would not choose the same college major again, and 22% would consider a different path. Stacie Haller, chief career advisor at ResumeBuilder.com, emphasizes that applicants should meet about 80% of a job's listed qualifications.
"If you're not qualified for a job, you're going to get ghosted. Period," Haller states. She adds that applying for a job weeks after it was posted significantly reduces a candidate's chances of being noticed.
Jillian Phelan, chief people officer at Criteria, notes that internal company processes can cause delays in responses, but often companies no longer inform unsuccessful candidates.
Experts advise applicants to target their applications more precisely and consider translating their skills to different industries if their current strategy is not yielding results.
