The Jobtech Alliance has announced new funding for two Kenyan technology startups, Fuzu and Kyosk. The financial terms of the investments were not disclosed.

The Jobtech Alliance, a joint initiative by Mercy Corps and BFA Global, focuses on building an ecosystem for inclusive jobtech across Africa. While previously supporting companies through cohorts, the alliance is now making direct investments in ventures.

Fuzu, with over a decade of experience in African talent infrastructure, is pivoting from a marketplace model to managing global teams for AI data operations, evaluation, and quality assurance. The funding stems from the Jobtech Alliance's Digital Work Sector Scan, which examines AI's impact on African digital work. The alliance will collaborate with Fuzu on international client growth and value chain advancement.

Kyosk operates as a B2B commerce platform serving over 200,000 informal retailers in Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, and Tanzania. This investment aligns with the alliance's thesis on microenterprise platforms that address the daily operational challenges of informal retailers, including inventory access, delivery consistency, and repeat purchasing.
