Joby Aviation Expands Electric Air Taxi Service to UK Via Virgin Atlantic Partnership
Joby Aviation and Virgin Atlantic have finalized a commercial agreement to bring electric air taxi services to the United Kingdom. The deal allows Virgin's customers to book air taxi connections through its booking platforms.

Electric air taxi developer Joby Aviation is expanding its services to the United Kingdom through a multi-year commercial agreement with airline Virgin Atlantic.
Under the terms of the agreement, Virgin Atlantic will offer Joby's air taxi services via its booking platforms, including its mobile app and website. This integration will allow UK travelers to book air taxi connections alongside their long-haul flights. The electric air taxis are designed to bypass city traffic and offer on-demand, short-distance transport for a pilot and up to four passengers, operating with zero emissions.
Corneel Koster, Chief Executive of Virgin Atlantic, stated that the agreement marks an "exciting next chapter" in their partnership with Joby and a significant step towards introducing electric air taxi services to the UK. He added that the collaboration aims to create more seamless journeys for customers traveling between cities and airports.
Joby Aviation, a prominent player in the emerging air mobility sector, previously announced a similar partnership with Delta Airlines to provide sustainable transportation to airports. The company aims to integrate air taxis as part of the overall air travel experience, rather than as a standalone service.
