Johanniter-Jugend updates prevention concept with new logo

Johanniter-Jugend, the youth wing of the German Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. (Johanniter Accident Relief Organization), has officially launched a new logo and pictogram for its prevention concept "!ACHTUNG" as of April 14, 2022.

The rebranding is a component of the wider initiative to update the Johanniter-Jugend's corporate identity. The new "!ACHTUNG" logo was developed through collaboration between the federal youth leadership, the prevention and child protection department, the steering committee for "!ACHTUNG," and the central marketing and communications department, alongside external agencies. The new design integrates the concept's characteristic exclamation mark into a bold, all-caps wordmark.

The "!ACHTUNG" concept, initially established over 15 years ago to combat sexualized violence, has evolved to address broader dimensions of violence. Romy Kretschmer, a representative for violence prevention, stated the goal was to create a logo that stands as a strong symbol, remains youthful, and conveys seriousness, reflecting the sensitive topics addressed.

A new pictogram featuring the letter 'A' with an integrated exclamation mark has also been developed for wider application on materials such as buttons and name tags. The visual update aims to ensure the new "!ACHTUNG" identity is modern, recognizable, and aligned with the overall corporate design of the Johanniter-Jugend, while retaining key elements like the exclamation mark and color scheme for continuity.

Markus Walper, federal youth leader, emphasized the importance of modernizing the logo and integrating it into the new corporate design while preserving its recognizability. The new visual elements are intended to strengthen the concept's presence and impact within the organization's broader communication strategy.
