Johanniter to Support School First Aid Service in Rodgau

Johanniter Unfall Hilfe has formalized its support for Georg-Büchner-School (GBS) in Rodgau by signing an agreement for a school first aid service (SSD). The contract was signed by GBS Principal Thorsten Möller and Johanniter's Regional Board Member Sven Korsch, marking GBS as the tenth school in the Offenbach district to receive this support.

Eleven students will participate in the new school first aid initiative. They will undergo initial first aid training and receive ongoing education to equip them for providing assistance during school hours. These student first responders will be available to help in various situations, from minor injuries to more serious medical events.

The SSD teams will operate on a schedule during school time, responding to emergencies as needed. This program aims to teach students proper emergency response and foster a sense of responsibility for their peers' well-being. Principal Möller expressed confidence in Johanniter's experienced guidance for the student group.

Sven Korsch highlighted the importance of early engagement, stating that the school first aid service not only imparts crucial first aid skills but also has the potential to spark interest in healthcare and social professions among young individuals.
