Johanniter Trains New Childcare Providers in Oberbayern

Johanniter Unfall Hilfe e.V. has commenced a new training program for childcare providers in its Oberbayern region, with the first course starting with 12 participants. The initiative aims to address the demand for flexible, family-like childcare, particularly for children under three years old and as supplementary care.

The training covers essential aspects required for qualified childcare professionals. This includes legal prerequisites, child development, nutrition, accident prevention, supervision duties, and communication with children and parents. It also addresses the educational mandate in childcare and child welfare concerns.

"We train according to the standards of the German Youth Institute (Deutsches Jugendinstitut), imparting comprehensive knowledge to the qualifiers," stated Stefanie Wilke, Head of the Coordination Office for Childcare. The program prepares individuals for childcare settings, often within the provider's home or in larger group settings.

Johanniter also provides guidance and support for parents seeking qualified childcare. The organization assures that it exclusively places qualified providers who hold valid permits and undergo regular further training.

The current cohort will complete their training with individual childcare concepts and a qualifying examination on November 11, 2022. The next course is scheduled to begin on April 1, 2023.
