Joy City Property Limited announced the official opening of its He Ping Joy City shopping mall in Tianjin on December 24. The venture marks the company's first project to be developed under its "light asset" output strategy. On its opening day, the mall reportedly saw over 100,000 visitors and generated nearly 10 million RMB in sales.

Located in Tianjin's central business district, the He Ping Joy City aims to establish itself as a new urban shopping and leisure destination. The mall targets a demographic of white-collar workers aged 25-40, featuring a tenant mix and floor design intended to cater to efficient shopping habits and fashionable preferences.

Departing from conventional retail formats, the mall features a leisure dining area on its first floor, rather than traditional clothing stores. Approximately one-fifth of the mall's 200 tenants are new to the Tianjin market. This "light asset" approach focuses on operational management and brand strategy over direct property ownership.

Joy City Property Limited, a subsidiary of COFCO Group, develops and operates commercial properties across China. The company intends to leverage projects like He Ping Joy City to explore and refine its light asset strategies for future growth and value creation for its stakeholders.
