Joyn launches new documentary soap opera on surplus goods
Joyn and Kabel Eins are launching a new documentary soap opera following six traders in their hunt for and sale of surplus goods and business liquidation items.

German streaming service Joyn and television channel Kabel Eins are launching a new documentary soap opera titled "Die Restposten-Kings" (The Surplus Goods Kings) on October 2. The series will follow six traders who specialize in buying and selling surplus goods, business liquidations, and returned merchandise.
The program follows the success of the previous show "Die Büffels." The eight-part series is produced by Just Friends Productions. Each episode will track the traders' attempts to find the best deals and determine whether their purchases were profitable or resulted in a loss.
"Die Restposten-Kings" delves into a unique trading world where courage and instinct are key. The series will feature, among others, Cologne-based trader Dirk Wünning, who aims to train his son Marcel in the business. While the traders have different business models, they share a willingness to take significant risks.
According to the production company, the format explores the creativity, instinct, and courage required to build profitable businesses from seemingly chaotic inventory. The series aims to show how these traders succeed in turning surplus goods into profits.
