Joyn releases guide on puppy nutrition

Pet services company Joyn has published a comprehensive guide addressing key questions surrounding the nutrition of puppies. The guide details aspects such as nursing periods, the transition to solid food, and recommended feeding quantities, aiming to equip owners with knowledge for proper puppy nourishment.

The guide explains that puppies are typically weaned from their mother's milk around eight weeks of age. During and after this weaning process, a gradual shift to solid food is crucial. Joyn suggests starting with moistened puppy food mixed with lukewarm water or ground dry food, with the water ratio progressively reduced.

Regarding feeding amounts, Joyn advises that a suitable portion of wet food is what a puppy consumes within approximately 5-7 minutes. Dry food, however, can be left available for longer, up to 20 minutes.

The guide also warns against specific human foods that are toxic to puppies, including chocolate, coffee, onions, garlic, grapes, and raw pork. Joyn emphasizes the importance of natural food without preservatives or artificial additives.
