J.P. Morgan Automates Afton Chemical's Banking Processes in India
J.P. Morgan's Virtual Branch solution automates Afton Chemical's cross-border and tax payments in India, reducing manual effort and improving efficiency.

J.P. Morgan's Virtual Branch solution has been implemented for Afton Chemical Corporation's Indian operations to enhance and automate cross-border and tax payments. This digital platform is designed to manage the complex regulatory environment the company faces in India as it expands its business.
Afton Chemical, which develops and manufactures petroleum additives, encountered significant challenges in India, including manual collation and submission of documents to banks, lengthy processing times, and a lack of visibility into transaction flows. The company sought a solution to streamline these processes and reduce reliance on manual operations.
The J.P. Morgan Virtual Branch solution integrates with existing banking platforms, enabling digital upload and submission of supporting documents for payments. It provides real-time tracking, audit trails, and the ability to download acknowledgements immediately after payments are processed. The solution is accessible via the J.P. Morgan Access® platform, leveraging existing user IDs and passwords.
Through the implementation of the solution, Afton Chemical has significantly reduced the need for manual collation and sharing of paper documents across its two locations. This has improved processing times and provided the company with enhanced visibility into workflows and transaction status, allowing for quicker issue resolution and freeing up staff for more value-added tasks.
