JPMorgan Chase and Ford Invest in Michigan Manufacturing Initiative

JPMorgan Chase and Ford are collaborating with the state of Michigan and other partners to launch the Michigan Launchpad for Industrial Innovation & Transformation (LIFT) initiative. The program aims to boost industrial and manufacturing growth in Michigan by creating a more direct path between industrial suppliers, manufacturers, and the financing needed to scale production.

The LIFT platform will allow industrial buyers and operators to submit manufacturing and supply-chain challenges. Suppliers can then respond to these "open calls" with solutions, fostering innovation and efficiency within the state's manufacturing ecosystem.

JPMorgan Chase has committed up to $1 billion in debt financing for the initiative. This significant funding is expected to accelerate the adoption of new technologies and the expansion of production capabilities. Key partners include the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Michigan Central, and Newlab.

JPMorgan Chase Chairman and CEO Jamie Dimon stated in a release that "Detroit for over a decade has shown what is possible when business, government and community leaders work together for the long term." The LIFT initiative seeks to build on this collaborative approach to strengthen Michigan's manufacturing future.
