JPMorgan Chase Invests $6 Million in Argentinian Youth Employment
JPMorgan Chase announced a $6 million philanthropic investment over five years in Argentina. The initiative aims to improve job access for underserved young people.
BUENOS AIRES – JPMorgan Chase has announced a $6 million philanthropic investment directed towards local nonprofit organizations in Argentina over the next five years. The funding is intended to enhance employment opportunities for underserved young individuals.
The initial $450,000 will be allocated to EMpower, a nonprofit focused on supporting marginalized communities. This support aims to equip 2,000 young people in the Buenos Aires area with skills training, work-based learning, and employment assistance. The initiative also seeks to strengthen public-private collaboration to foster long-term improvements in youth employment.
This investment builds on JPMorgan Chase's 125-year presence in Argentina, where Buenos Aires serves as the firm's largest hub in Latin America. The company has a history of supporting the nation's economic growth through financing major infrastructure and financial entities.
The program will also include a 12-month career readiness initiative for university students, featuring a three-month work experience at the firm's Buenos Aires office. Participants will develop technical and soft skills, expand their professional networks, and improve their English proficiency, thereby increasing access to professional careers.
