JPR: Global PC Graphics Card Shipments Reach 12.5 Million Units in Q2 2026
Market research firm Jon Peddie Research reported that global PC Add-in Board (AIB) shipments reached 12.5 million units in the second quarter of 2026. This marks a 10% increase from the previous quarter and a 6.6% rise year-over-year.
Global shipments of PC Add-in Boards (AIBs) reached 12.5 million units in the second quarter of 2026, according to a report released by market research firm Jon Peddie Research. This figure represents a 10% increase compared to the previous quarter and a 6.6% rise year-over-year.
AIBs, which are discrete graphics cards containing GPUs, memory, and cooling solutions, are crucial for graphically demanding tasks such as gaming, video editing, and scientific computing. They connect to the motherboard via PCIe slots.
Market share dynamics showed shifts among the main manufacturers. AMD's AIB market share decreased by 0.16 percentage points quarter-over-quarter, while Intel's share increased by 0.3 percentage points, and NVIDIA's share saw a 0.1 percentage point decline. This contrasts with the desktop CPU market, which experienced a significant year-over-year decline of 33% and a 10.5% sequential drop.
The overall attachment rate of AIBs in desktop PCs rose to 89%, an increase of 23 percentage points from the prior quarter. Jon Peddie Research noted that market expectations had previously been impacted by memory shortages and changes in tariff policies. The firm suggested that the strong sales of high-end AIBs, despite price increases, might be attributed to consumers anticipating further price hikes and making purchases proactively.
Looking ahead, Jon Peddie Research projects a compound annual growth rate of -2.5% for the AIB market between 2025 and 2030. The firm anticipates the installed base to reach 193 million units by the end of this forecast period.
