Jula, the Swedish retail chain, has announced plans to establish a new department store in Mariestad, Sweden, with construction slated for a Spring 2028 opening. The new store will be situated in the Sydport area, adjacent to the E20 motorway, a key transportation route.
The chosen location in Sydport is designated by the Mariestad municipality for commercial and service development. Its accessibility is expected to attract customers from across northern Skaraborg. The store will feature Jula's comprehensive product range of approximately 15,000 items, catering to both DIY enthusiasts and professional customers.
Johan Sjöhagra, CEO of Jula AB, stated that Mariestad is a growing municipality with a loyal customer base that has long desired a Jula store. He highlighted that the new establishment will increase the accessibility of Jula's extensive product offerings within the region.
The expansion is part of Jula's long-term growth strategy and aims to contribute to the development of the Sydport commercial zone. The location along the E20 is anticipated to become a significant retail hub for both local residents and travelers. Karl-Johan Blank, owner of Jula Holding Group, expressed confidence in the location's potential and the cooperative relationship with the Municipality of Mariestad.
