Julianne Moore receives Women In Motion Award at Cannes Film Festival

Actress Julianne Moore received the 2026 Women In Motion Award at the 79th Festival de Cannes on Monday, May 18. The award was presented by François-Henri Pinault, Chairman of Kering, alongside Festival de Cannes President Iris Knobloch and General Delegate Thierry Frémaux.

Italian filmmaker Margherita Spampinato was also honored with the Emerging Talent Award. The Women In Motion program, a partnership between Kering and the Festival de Cannes, aims to highlight the role and impact of women in cinema.

This year's ceremony, the eleventh edition of the award, was attended by numerous prominent figures from the film industry, including members of the Festival jury and other distinguished guests.

The Women In Motion initiative has been a feature of the Cannes Film Festival for over a decade, focusing on recognizing and supporting women's contributions to filmmaking.
