Junshi Biosciences and Rxilient Biotech Form Joint Venture for Southeast Asia
Junshi Biosciences and Rxilient Biotech have established a joint venture to develop and commercialize the cancer drug toripalimab across nine countries in Southeast Asia.
Chinese biopharmaceutical firms Junshi Biosciences and Rxilient Biotech have established a joint venture to develop and commercialize toripalimab, a cancer treatment, across nine Southeast Asian nations. The agreement covers Thailand, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
Toripalimab is an anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody independently developed by Junshi Biosciences. The company has conducted over 30 clinical trials globally for various cancer indications. Toripalimab has received marketing approval in China for six indications, with further regulatory submissions underway in the U.S., EU, and U.K.
"Cancer patients need toripalimab. We are confident that the highly professional and experienced Rxilient team will drive quick access to this valuable drug," stated Mr. Hong Tan, Managing Director of Legend Capital, an investor in Rxilient.
The collaboration aims to expand access to innovative cancer therapies in the Southeast Asian market, which Junshi Biosciences describes as having significant potential. Rxilient intends to partner with Junshi Biosciences on future introductions of innovative drugs into the region.
