Chinese manufacturer Hangzhou Juntai Plastic Products Co., Ltd. has presented its MBBR biofilm media for use in Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) wastewater treatment systems. This technology utilizes specialized microbial communities that grow as biomass on provided media.
The MBBR media manufactured by Juntai serves as a carrier for these bacteria. As the media moves within the reactor, it facilitates improved oxygen transfer and contact between the microorganisms and the pollutants in the wastewater. MBBR technology is recognized for its effectiveness across various wastewater streams, including industrial and municipal sources.
Compared to conventional activated sludge processes, MBBR systems offer greater stability and are less susceptible to fluctuations in flow rates or organic loading. Juntai's focus is on creating media with optimal surface area to promote robust bacterial growth, thereby maximizing treatment capacity.
