Pernod Ricard's Kahlúa coffee liqueur has introduced a new bottle design and modernized brand image to better highlight its coffee origins. The packaging refresh aims to capitalize on the growth of the brand's Original SKU, which saw a 90.6% value increase over the past year, driven partly by increased at-home cocktail making.

The new bottle design emphasizes the brand's authenticity and Mexican provenance, with a stronger focus on real coffee attributes. It also features a revised logo and a matte label finish, intended to create a more contemporary look and enhance on-shelf appeal.

Chris Shead, Off-Trade Channel Director at Pernod Ricard UK, stated that Kahlúa is experiencing double-digit growth, with consumers experimenting with serves like the Espresso Martini at home. He believes the updated packaging will help maintain this momentum and attract new consumers.

In conjunction with the new design, Kahlúa Original has reduced its alcohol by volume (ABV) to 16%. This change aligns with evolving consumer trends toward conscious drinking and lower-alcohol options, while retaining the liqueur's well-known rich flavor.
