Kalmar and Port of Helsingborg sign agreement for electric reachstackers
Kalmar and the Port of Helsingborg have entered into a six-year frame agreement for the procurement of electric reachstackers. The agreement covers up to nine machines.

Kalmar announced on June 29, 2026, that it has secured a frame agreement with the Port of Helsingborg for the supply of electric reachstackers.
The agreement, valid for six years, allows for the potential procurement of up to nine Kalmar electric reachstacker machines. The Port of Helsingborg, Sweden's second-largest container port, is actively investing in reducing its climate impact and energy consumption.
A key initiative by the port is the electrification of its cargo-handling equipment, aiming to replace diesel-powered machinery with cleaner alternatives. The port already operates one Kalmar electric reachstacker, which was delivered in early 2024.
Christina Argelius, Chief Technical Officer at the Port of Helsingborg, stated that the frame agreement marks a significant step in their transition toward lower-emission terminal operations. "Electrification also brings new requirements in infrastructure and daily operations, and having a partner with strong technical expertise is essential as we scale up," Argelius said.
Kalmar, a global provider of material handling solutions, highlighted that electrification offers a stable and secure path for terminals to increase efficiency and reduce emissions amidst rising fuel costs and environmental pressures.
